In conceiving and designing Olive Hill, we wanted to create a sustainable, retreat-like home that feels warm and welcoming, while also transporting visitors into a state of spaciousness and wonder.

Inspired by both old-world and modern elements in Greek and Moroccan architectural styles, we envisioned a space that is simple yet striking, elevating yet deeply relaxing - a place where you inhale inspiration and exhale stress.

We envisioned a home spacious enough for social gatherings and events, but also designed for our future — growing older in community with friends –enjoying wine and wellness well into older years.

My design inspiration came from Axel Vervoordt’s Wabi Inspirations, which explores the Wabi Sabi philosophy, which celebrates nature, and the beauty of age and imperfection. Wood, stone, plaster, and antique architectural elements come together to create what we hope is a harmonious environment - one that elevates and inspires everyone who visits Olive Hill.
