In conceiving and designing Olive Hill, we wanted to create a sustainable, retreat-like home that feels warm and welcoming, while also transporting visitors into a state of spaciousness and wonder. Inspired by both old-world and modern elements in Greek and Moroccan architectural styles, we envisioned a space that is simple yet striking, elevating yet deeply relaxing - a place where you inhale inspiration and exhale stress. It should be spacious enough for social gatherings and events, while functionally designed to accommodate growing older with friends enjoying wine and wellness long into life.

My design “bible" was Axel Vervoordt's "Wabi Inspirations,” which highlights a design style called Wabi Sabi — celebrating the beauty in imperfection, age and nature. Elements like wood and stone, plaster, and antique architectural pieces create what we hope is a harmonious environment that will elevate and inspire all who visit Olive Hill.
